Hector Santamaria (b. 1992) is a young free surfer from Puerto Rico. Since being introduced by a mutual friend from California in 2014 he is now the main surfer I work and travel with as well as help with his career. An insane talent and a very unique and fun personality sees him friends with some of the worlds most recognised surfers, whilst also flying under the radar. In 2015 were working on a feature film, Tesoro the movie, starring some of his friends, which will showcase his true colours. Hector is more than an ambassador of Eye Symmetry, he is part of the brand, look out for Hector this year, he’s too good to miss. I sent Hector some questions about himself, Eye Symmetry and what it means to be a part of the brand.

Chris Grundy (b. 1992) is a young, passionate artistic photographer based in Sydney, Australia. I first contacted Chris about a year ago to start shooting Tom Carroll locally around Sydney. Chris has been so easy and fun to work with and since then has travelled solo to Japan to meet us as well as numerous local road trips. Passionate and professional he is known to turn up at shoots hours before us and sometimes even send an email with the shots of the session before we even get back to work. Chris has a unique, finely tuned artistic eye and this can be seen throughout his body of work. Were very happy to have such a creative individual working with us and we are proud to have him featured amongst our other ambassadors. I asked Chris a couple of questions about himself and working with Eye Symmetry, true to form, I received his email the following day. This is what he had to say.

“Ever since a young age I have had a strong passion for the ocean and its surroundings. A few years ago I picked up a camera and started to document things I found interesting or that caught my eye. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made so far, and I could not be any happier to make a career out of doing something I love. Being passionate about something you love makes the whole experience that much better! At the end of last year I went over to Japan with Max and Hector, and it was one of the most rewarding/funniest trips of my life. Max is such a positive human with a lot of energy, and spending time with him is always good! Its incredible to see how much work goes into every board, with each finished product being a work of art. I’ve been working closely with Max for nearly a year now, and it has been great experience!

Looking forward to future shoots with Tom, Max and Hector and can’t wait for the next trip!”
